🎣Rod Progression
To fish you will always need to have at least 1 Fishing Rod. By owning a Fisherman's Hut you will automatically have access to a Basic Rod+9 This Rod can only be used to Fish in the Reef, the first Sea. To catch more interesting items and recipes you will need a Fishing Rod that can be crafted with the corresponding Recipe. The upgrade costs and success rate of the Fishing Rod are:

Once you have a Fishing Rod +9 you can sacrifice it to craft a Common Fishing Rod +0 that can be used to fish in the Deep Sea with Better loot, better XP, and better recipes.
